Recognizing, Understanding Substances on the Highways: This class is available only for sworn law enforcement and will challenge both new and experienced officers. It is desigend to look beyond the traffic stop and recognize indicators of criminal activity. Officers will receive training involving roadside interviews, hands-on vehicle searches, current drug trends, the physical signs and symptoms of drug use, legal issues, usage of K9s during the traffic stop and report writting. 

Drug ID for Corrections Officers Part 1

Drug Identification for Corrections Officers Part 1 is a one-day course designed for corrections officers, prison guards, and jail nursing staff and deals with identifying drugs and clandestine paraphernalia associated with drug use, current drug trends, clothing and symbols of the drug world. Recognizing substance abuse is a key factor in keeping staff and inmates safe.

Drug ID forCorrections Officers Part II

This course is designed for anyone in the corrections field and expands on the prerequisite (Drug ID for Corrections Part I) course and is specifically geared towards recognizing drug use within the human body, overdose signs and symptoms or possible medical conditions which can mimic drug use. The course will give a broad overview and break down the human body and how each of the 11 major systems are affected by the use of substances. Whether it is a huber inmate returning from work, bookings, or sentenced inmates drug use is prevalent. The key to officer and inmate safety is recognizing drug use.
